Your Guide to Taco Tuesday: Here’s Where You Can Find the Best Tacos Close to Home

  |     |   Neighborhood

Happy #TacoTuesday, Alley 24 residents! We love taking this opportunity to break up the week and dig into some delicious tacos in Seattle. After all, what could be better than munching on a big plate of tacos and burritos?

Our spacious apartments in South Lake Union are surrounded by some of the best Mexican restaurants in Seattle! Save this list we’ve rounded up for later today or any Tuesday in the future when you’re in the mood for tacos! All of these options are 5 minutes from home or less.

We couldn’t kick off this post without mentioning our neighbors at El Grito! The menu at this Seattle restaurant never disappoints; we could find a reason to visit this taqueria every week! Along with a traditional selection of the absolute best tacos, they have enchiladas, fajitas and small bites (antojitos).

Looking for a vegan option? Luckily, they have several, like a taco complete with squash blossom, jalapeño, epazote, garlic, onions and white corn tortillas! They also have you covered in the drink department with margaritas, slushies, cocktails, beer and wine! We mentioned some of them in our last blog post about where to find great cocktails. Enjoy!

More often than not, the best tacos come from food trucks and stands! You can find ultra-authentic street tacos just 3 minutes from your Alley 24 home at the Carmelo’s Tacos taco truck. You can’t go wrong with a taco al pastor on one of their house-made corn tortillas! Don’t forget some salsa verde on the side.

Since service here is quick, it’s a great option if you’re in a pinch! Enjoy your tacos on a picnic blanket on a beautiful Seattle day or from the comfort of home.

It doesn’t get more convenient than Tacos Chukis — there are two locations within minutes from our community! Their Capitol Hill restaurant is just 5 minutes away on Broadway and offers some of the best tacos in the city!

This taco spot is perfect for affordable, low-key options that taste amazing. Their tacos are all around $2 and you can get a quesadilla for less than $5! Their house taco — the “Taco Chukis” — comes with adobada pork, grilled pineapple, melted cheese, onion, cilantro, salsa and guacamole on a soft corn tortilla. Add a bottle of Jarritos or Topo Chico to complete your order and you’re good to go!

If you have favorite tacos in the Seattle area, we’d love to hear about them! Tag us (@alley24apts) in your tastiest taco pictures on Instagram!
